Stickers are often used for in-store advertising because they can be placed on almost any surface. On the other hand, the removal of stickers can be quite challenging and damage the surface. That’s why many ads are often left where they once were glued and this might result in out-of-date product or campaign information in the store.
In our opinion, here are the 4 most annoying things about traditional stickers:
- Stickers are hard-to-install
- Stickers can cause damage to surfaces
- Stickers are hard-to-remove and require cleaning afterwards
- Stickers are permanent and non-reusable
Traditional paper stickers are quite hard to install. The substrate is strongly fixed to the surface immediately after installation. Especially large formats require professional installation but even the smaller ones suffer from bubbles and wrinkles rather easily.
2. DAMAGE TO SURFACES
Stickers can cause damage and leave residue on the surface. That’s why you have to take into account these risks when installing stickers on various surfaces.
Removing a sticker advertisement is not that easy. Normally it requires some tools, a lot of scratching and even chemicals to remove the ad completely. After this, you’ll still need to clean the surface because there can be some residue left on it.
Traditional stickers are an option when permanent adhesion is needed. When installing a sticker, it typically sticks permanently to the surface and cannot be reused again. This might be a problem with short-time advertising or if something goes wrong with the installation and the advertisement should be removed and replaced.
WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES?
There are various low-tack and glue-free stickers available. They are easy to use compared to traditional paper stickers. With glue-free stickers it is possible to create both easy and effective campaigns. Glue-free stickers are ideal for short-time advertising because of their easy installation and due to the fact that they can be easily removed and reused again.
